Why Everyone Should Visit New York At Least Once

new yorkHave you been contemplating taking a trip, whether for a weekend or longer? If so and you haven’t yet visited New York City it should definitely be on your short list.

This city is often considered the center of the universe in terms of finance, culture, fashion and more. It’s a walkable city, and there are also plenty of options to see the world-class sites from New York City bus tours. There are so many hotel and restaurant options for every budget, and it’s like no other place on the planet.

Below are some of the top reasons you should consider a trip to New York in your lifetime.

Culture

If you’re looking for a culturally rich travel experience, there might be no place better than New York. There are museums for every interest from the Museum of Natural History to the Museum of Modern Art. There are huge museums housing amazing pieces of art, and smaller galleries and museums catering to newer or lesser-known artists.

Broadway is the perfect place to catch a show like Hamilton, or you can do the smaller off-broadway shows for something more avant-garde. Hamilton tickets on Broadway may seem difficult to get due to its popularity, but getting them is possible.

The culture of New York revolves around not just art, history, music and theater but also architecture and fashion. There’s something to see or learn around every corner, and it would be incredibly difficult to get bored with the cultural opportunities in the city, even after a lifetime.

The Holidays

One of the best times to visit New York is during the holidays. November through New Year’s Eve let you see New York in the kind of way that’s on most people’s bucket lists. There’s the Rockefeller Christmas Tree, the decorated stores along Fifth Avenue, skating in Central Park, or the Rockettes at Radio City Music Hall.

It’s the type of holiday experience often immortalized in the movies, and yet you can experience it yourself.

Food

A lot of people proclaim themselves to be foodies, and if that describes you, going to New York gives you access not only to some of the world’s best chefs and restaurateurs but also something else hard to find: authenticity.

You may not have the opportunity to visit China or the Middle East and try their cuisine, but New York allows you to sample the cuisines of the world authentically.

Shopping

You might not have the budget to shop New York for the big-name designers, but that’s what’s great about New York City: there is something for everyone. You can browse the vintage stores and smaller boutiques for rare finds, as well as discount stores. Even if your shopping budget is incredibly small, you’re likely to bring home some new items.

Finally, there’s nothing like a trip to New York to make you appreciate the quiet of your hometown. The hustle and bustle of the city is amazing to experience when you’re traveling, but it’s not necessarily right for everyone in terms of where they’ll live. One of the biggest benefits of traveling is the fact that it makes you grateful to return home with your new memories and experiences, and that’s just what happens following a trip to New York. And be sure to check out the Midtown East Westgate.
