The Healthy Voyager Las vegas EpisodeLas Vegas isn’t only about buffets and drinking alcohol – there are a multitude of healthy things to do in and around Sin City too. Las Vegas has 40 million visitors each year – and many are looking for places to hike, ride bikes and have a fun and healthy visit without falling victim to calorie overload.

Take a look at these six active and healthy things you can do in Las Vegas.

Head to Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area.

If you’re looking for a place to hike, the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area is a beautiful oasis of breathtaking mountains that allow visitors to enjoy nature and hike the trails. It’s located about 20 miles from the Strip and is the perfect spot to explore, whether you want to hike for just 30 minutes or the entire day. Get some fresh air and climb the rocks too. Consider visiting Red Rock Canyon at sunset if you want to avoid the extreme mid-day heat. Don’t forget to take your camera – the backdrop is something you’ll want to remember.

Visit The Springs Preserve in Las Vegas.

Take an afternoon and head to the Springs Preserve where you can rent bicycles and follow the bike loop. A paved and easy path, it’s not too difficult if you’re an inexperienced rider and is a good for kids too. There are child carrier rentals available for just $4. Don’t miss out on the Springs Preserve when you’re in Las Vegas – it offers picturesque scenery that you must see with your own eyes.

Book a Stay Well Room.

Most people probably don’t know these rooms exist, but the MGM Grand offers Stay Well rooms that are equipped with air purifiers, Vitamin C infused showers, aromatherapy diffusers and a dawn stimulator, which is lighting that wakes you up gradually. The rooms also have blackout curtains, filtered water in the sink and healthy menu options. If you want to stay well on your trip, the Stay Well Rooms are worth considering.

Walk the Strip.

It’s not fancy, but the strip stretches just over 4 miles long, so why not walk or jog along it? Work those muscles and sightsee before start gambling for the day. It’s best to go in the morning before the temperatures rise and the streets get crowded. If you’re going to plan to sit at a table for hours it’s been shown that walking beforehand and eating well is good for your brain

Do Yoga with the Dolphins.

One of the best-kept secret activities in Las Vegas is located at the Mirage. Tourists have the option to book morning yoga sessions in the Dolphin Habitat, an experience that is all about waking up with the dolphins and doing the downward dog at the same time – talk about a great way to make exercise feel easy. Those who attend the class breathe and stretch in the underwater observation deck while dolphins swim by – what else could you ask for?

Try a Total Body Fitness Boot Camp.

Trump Towers offers morning boot camps where the bravest souls sign up to work out along the Las Vegas strip. Personal trainers get you sweating so you’ll enjoy Vegas in a way like never before while burning calories at the same time. Bonus: you can view a great fountain show when you pass the Bellagio!

While Las Vegas may not be the place you think of when you picture healthy living, the city offers countless fitness and workout options hidden amongst the bars and neon lights. If working on your health is something you prioritize, Las Vegas won’t stop you. Interested in living in Vegas? Check out listing for Las Vegas homes for sale.
