Relieve StressStress may be a good thing when you need to perform well at work or get a high mark on an exam, but anxiety or chronic stress is damaging to your overall health in many ways. Chronic stress may affect hormones, which in turn, triggers other problems such as a higher risk of heart disease, digestive disorders and cancer. Fortunately, you don’t have to start taking prescription medication to reduce stress in your life. There are natural remedies such as RediCalm that can help reduce stress levels.

Well-known Stress-Relievers

Getting enough exercise is one of the top natural ways to reduce stress. It doesn’t matter what type of exercise you do it will help. You can do yoga, walk, run, lift weights, dance or swim. You can be alone with your thoughts or let them go and just enjoy the activity. Exercise releases endorphins into your brain and improves your mood. The added advantage is it supports cardiovascular health, prevents weight gain and is good for your bones.

Getting enough sleep is also right up there as a top stress-reducer. When you do not get enough sleep, you may become cranky and irritable. The right amount of sleep, which is different for everyone, leaves you feeling fresh and energetic. There are several ways you can promote better sleep, including exercise, but not three hours before sleep and bedtime rituals. Before going to bed, you may try taking a warm bath, drinking hot milk and eating foods that promote sleep such as carbohydrates, figs and bananas.

B-Complex

One of the symptoms of a B vitamin deficiency is stress. The B vitamins promote the proper functioning of the brain and nervous systems and promote relaxation. B vitamins are found in wheat germ, beans, eggs, nuts and dairy products.

Natural Herbs

Passionflower, extracts from tea leaves, amino acids and lemon balm are some natural ingredients that help reduce stress. These herbs can be taken individually or found combined in stress-reducing products. They may help maintain you levels of serotonin, help improve your mood and reduce stress levels.

Massage

Historically, massage has been used to reduce stress for thousands of years. In one way, it seems obvious that massaging muscles may relax them, but the China and India developed medical massage that actually opens channels to release energy, reduce pain from tense muscles and improve blood circulation. When your blood is circulating properly, it carries oxygen-rich blood to all parts of your body including the brain, making you feel better.

Good Nutrition

Your body needs certain nutrients to function properly. If it does not get them through food or supplements, some functions may break down. For example, if you consume too much fatty foods, your body cannot eliminate it all and it sticks to your arteries causing dangerous blockages that could mean a heart attack or stroke. Studies show that junk food can cause depression. Some foods such as blueberries, almonds and salmon are known to reduce stress, but eating a balanced diet of whole grains, fruits, vegetables, dairy and certain fish and meat is very important for good overall health. Too much caffeine is a famous cause of stress and anxiety.

If you believe that stress has a big effect on your lifestyle, there are a few natural remedies you can do to help reduce it such as Redicalm.
