Feel like Thanksgiving has lost its meaning?
Maybe it feels like the speed bump on the way from Halloween
to Christmas?
Sure, it seems that way with every passing year
but we can take it back
by practicing its true meaning,
gratitude and giving thanks.
Sure, these days, it can be difficult to feel grateful or thankful.
With the world economy in the hole, unemployment hitting record highs,
and all sorts of awful things going on around the globe,
giving thanks doesn’t seem like the natural choice.
However, the more we give thanks and show gratitude for what we DO
have, instead of focusing what we don’t,
the power of that small mental shift can work wonders.
Positive thought and gratitude can only reap more of the same
and at the very least, it brings a sense of peace and happiness to really\
take inventory of what you do have. You may be surprised at how much
you have ; )
This Thanksgiving, do your best to practice gratitude, regardless of who you are with or where you
are on Thanksgiving Thursday.
While the feast seems to take center stage next to football,
parades and crazy black Friday shopping,
the true meaning of this holiday is to give thanks
so make sure that you don’t
forget to do so this year and spread the word!
