Getting Your Body Ready for BabyPlanning on pregnancy can be a daunting task. From figuring out finances and getting the right insurance plan to finding the right doctor to getting in baby making shape, it’s a lot to think about. The good news is that for centuries, women have been having healthy babies without all of the luxuries and medical advances we have today so doing the best you can already puts you in a good place.

Health is of the utmost important so do your best to get yourself on a healthy diet. That’s not to say you can’t indulge in things you love every now and again, but it’s important to add healthy fruits, vegetables and unprocessed foods into your diet while decreasing your intake of sugary, fatty, fried foods as well as alcohol and caffeine. The more plant based your diet, the better. And drinking a ton of water helps too! Adding vitamin supplements like folic acid and a pre-natal multivitamin before conception is also a great idea.

Daily exercise and stretching helps get the body ready for the 9 months that it will be carrying more weight and then of course for that stamina draining activity, giving birth. Getting on a regular exercise routine will help relieve stress and keep you from gaining more weight than necessary while also keeping you, and baby healthy.

Another thing that helps get body ready for baby is some pampering! From massage and acupuncture for fertility to yoga and relaxing spa services, it’s important for moms-to-be to take time to take care of their bodies as well as their minds and spirits , before , during and after pregnancy.

Healthy, happy mom equals healthy, happy baby!
