5 Ways to Build Your Travel Blog

computerTraveling is more than just an activity: it’s a way of life! Your journey as a travel blogger can take you to destinations many only dream of while still paying the bills!

Growing your audience can seem impossible first. How can you compete with other bloggers that are already successful? Here are 5 of the best ways to stand out and gain recognition throughout your travels!

Show Us Who You Are

You aren’t just a replication of all the other bloggers out there. You have a unique perspective on the world, and a whole lot to say! Be sure to solidify and present your daily travels through your own voice. This way, readers can really latch onto your content.

Be sure that simple things like the name of your blog align with your mission as a traveler and your overall aesthetic. This will make it easier for your audience to know that they’ve come to the right place for the content they’re most interested in!

Partner With Travel Agencies and Local Businesses

You want to see the world, and travel agencies want to help you do it! Partnering with an agency allows you to get deals on accommodations and the agency to spread the word about their quality services.

The same goes for businesses who want to attract visitors to their company through a partnership with someone who has a following. Reaching out to local businesses can be as easy as sending an email to their public relations manager with information about your blog, your following, and how a partnership could be mutually beneficial.

Be sure to include a place on your website for such inquiries, so that PR managers can reach out directly when they like what they see.

If In Doubt, Hire A Pro

If you run a travel blog for a travel agency or local business, or want some extra help marketing along your travels, one of the best ways to build your client base is to reach out to companies that are naturals at advertising adventure.

Travel PR companies like 80 20 Communications run targeted campaigns, facilitate trade show communications, and even strategically manage your social media and web content. Growing your web traffic can be as simple as filling out a contact form and letting the pros do the work for you!

Don’t Underestimate Style

Attracting a base of clients is infinitely easier once you have solidified your brand. This can be done by making sure all the facets of your web presence align.

Be sure that your blog name stylistically matches up with the content of the blog, the logo, and the layout of the website. For a cozy coffee-lover who loves checking out the best bookstores around the world, your name and design should reflect that with warm, clean colors and stunning pics of the drinks you get.

Be An Active Member of the Community

No one likes a loner! Visit and comment on blogs you love, and follow creators and travelers you like. This way, you promote each other, and everyone wins!

Travel blogging is an incredibly personal activity. Making friends with other bloggers is, if nothing else, a great way to make a home for yourself in the community and to get tips on how to continue to build better content. Who better to learn from than those who are thriving in your industry?

Traveling The World, And The Web

While growing your fan base can feel like a monumental task at times, these are simple things that will help put your blog on the map! By following these simple steps, your content will become more cohesive and more confident, and will receive the attention it deserves.

Your readers are out there, and they’re waiting to find your blog! Be there to welcome them into the saga of your adventures.

Thank you for your advice! For me, one of the most important things is a great idea and the quality and uniqueness of your content. Let’s be honest, there’s a lot of good travel content and blogs out there right now, so you need to do something different or better to be remembered. I am now thinking about reviving my travel blog, adding some videos to it, as well as podcasts. For the latter, I even found a great source https://www.travelwritingworld.com/starting-a-travel-podcast/ which will help me with tips at the very start

Any business activity requires the services of promotion, budget for customer acquisition. So the target audience is large and interested. All you need is to offer a quality service and make yourself known. A competent approach and a well-thought-out business strategy will allow you to quickly open your investments. And the start-up capital can be different. It all depends on the idea that you will implement.
