MykonosThe Greek islands offer a nice balance between beautiful beaches, great weather, and a lot of holiday attractions to visit. The destination is perfect for different types of trips, from a luxurious holiday to a budget-friendly trip with close friends or the entire family.

Mykonos is a definite must-visit. The Greek island is not only filled with great attractions, but it also offers the kind of relaxing ambience that makes every trip to the island memorable and highly enjoyable. There are a lot of other reasons why Mykonos is a must-visit and we are going to discuss five of them in this article.

Little Venice

Little Venice is an area on the island of Mykonos that is too beautiful to miss. The area, as the name suggests, looks a lot like Venice, Italy, combining the beauty of classic architecture and white buildings with the natural charm of the sea. The place is also known as Alefkantra and has been the go-to destination for international travellers and locals alike.

Little Venice is also famous for its sunset. In fact, it is one of the best places to enjoy the sunset in the area. You can have a relaxing afternoon by the sea or opt for a boat tour to get a different point of view. Don’t forget to have your camera with you because the entire area is very picturesque.

Beautiful Towns

Mykonos is filled with charming towns that you can explore on foot. I usually take a scooter to the outskirt of a town or a particular part of the island and then spend an entire day exploring local shops and restaurants.

Since the people in Mykonos are used to seeing travellers, they are incredibly helpful and very friendly. You don’t have to worry about language barrier either. Even better, you will have plenty of opportunities to sample the local culture as you explore the beautiful towns in Mykonos.

A Luxurious Feel

Mykonos has some of the best amenities of all the Greek islands. Aside from great hotels and restaurants, you can also enjoy the island in utmost luxury by choosing one of the best villas in Mykonos through BlueVillas as your accommodation for the trip.

The villas may be luxurious, but their prices aren’t. in most cases, you can actually save on accommodation by booking a villa rather than staying in a hotel. You also get extra space and more amenities, including a working kitchen and a private pool.

The same theme can be found across the island; not all luxury services and places in Mykonos are necessarily expensive. You can enjoy the best of the island without breaking the bank.

Museums!

Aside from beaches and parties, Mykonos is also the home of many interesting museums. It is an island with a long history, so visiting museums with amazing collections is a good way to spend an afternoon. Most of the museums are easy to access and they make for great day-trip destinations.

The Folklore Museum of Mykonos is one that you need to try. It is situated in Kastro, in a traditional building that preserves its beauty very well. The museum hosts classic furniture and ceramics from different times. It is also the home of photographs and manuscripts that tell the tale of the island.

The Architecture

Speaking of well-preserved buildings, Mykonos is also a great destination for those who love architecture. The structures on the island are mostly white and date back several hundred years. They are, as mentioned before, very well-preserved and hold a lot of stories waiting to be uncovered. Mykonos also has some amazing architecture, any avid architect would be very interested in visiting, in the meantime check out newtecnic who have worked on projects such as the Collins park palace based in Miami.

Mykonos offer a well-rounded holiday experience; there is a holiday activity for everyone. A trip to Mykonos is an adventure you will always remember.

Mykonos is a stunning island and has been attracting visitors since the 1950s due to its natural beauty. Amazing beaches, the picture-perfect main town, and archeological sites including Delos make it a perfect holiday destination for all age groups.
