Using CBD on Your Vacation: 7 Things To Know

cbdThe special holiday spirit sweeps the country like a summer wind, and with it comes the motivation to go on a vacation. You may now be considering various vacation destinations as you organize your upcoming holiday break. Summer vacations can entail a short bus ride or a long flight to exotic locales.

Cannabidiol (CBD) products are becoming more widely available, and they are quickly becoming travelers’ go-to remedy for alleviating the effects of jet lag, anxiety, and muscle pain. However, due to the substance’s varying forms and the many facets of the law that affect its use, transporting CBD may become a bit of a hassle, which is why it’s best to buy once you get to the destination—and if you’re going to Tennessee, you’re in luck. When traveling with cannabis products, it is important to consider how they will be packed. Cannabis products are often subject to strict laws and regulations, and packing them in an unauthorized manner can result in serious penalties. For this reason, canna packaging is designed to meet the specific requirements of each state and country. Cannabis packaging is typically made from airtight and smell-proof materials, such as mylar or glass, and can be sealed with a child-resistant closure.

If you want to take your vacation to the next level, consider incorporating some of these CBD-related tips.

Using CBD on Your Vacation: 7 Things To Know

Here are some things to consider about CBD oil before hitting the road to ensure a relaxing and rejuvenating vacation.

  • Try CBD gummy at the hotel in case of a busy schedule

Don’t let a little pain stop you from enjoying all the wonderful things you’ve planned to do in the Smoky Mountains. Aching muscles and a stiff back are common side effects of sitting for hours on end in a cramped city bus. The CBD gummies from Smoky Mountain Organics, a renowned name in the CBD Pigeon Forge market, are an appetizing answer to the problem of muscle discomfort. In addition to relieving anxiety and stress, CBD gummies for flying give jetlagged passengers a much-needed pick-me-up.

  • Check with the vacation city’s CBD policy and restrictions

Although CBD has been legalized on a federal level in the United States, the laws governing it vary widely from state to state, and it remains banned in several nations. Since the passage of the 2018 Farm Bill, only CBD oil made from hemp plants is legal to transport over state lines in the United States; CBD oil made from marijuana plants is illegal. On a dry weight basis, the tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) content of the hemp-derived CBD oil must be less than 0.3%.

CBD products approved by the federal government can be carried on board without being declared at domestic US airports. Since the rules at the international level are unclear, it’s important to familiarize yourself with the CBD limits in the city you plan to visit. Be wary of bringing any prohibited items into a foreign country, as some have stringent restrictions.

  • Review the certificate of analysis

Legal hemp products should have less than 0.3% THC, as the law requires. However, some items sold in the cannabis market are considered nutritional supplements with higher THC content. Due to the prevalence of noncompliance in this industry, a CBD certificate of analysis is necessary. This certificate provides access to a thorough lab report that can be used to verify that the product meets all applicable standards.

The following can be learned by carefully examining the certificate of analysis and label:

  • The percentage of CBD
  • THC concentration
  • Whether it’s full spectrum CBD, broad-spectrum CBD, or CBD isolate
  • The potency of the product
  • Consider packing in travel sizes

When it comes to transporting cannabis from one state to another, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has very tight regulations. The TSA has screening mechanisms in place to ensure the safety of passengers and the aviation industry. If you want to conform to the regulations, you can’t take any CBD products weighing more than 3.4 pounds in your carry-on luggage. Additionally, you may place any CBD products weighing over 3.4 pounds in your checked baggage. The container must be a see-through, resealable one-quart bag.

  • Take CBD before boarding your flight

Airplanes, one of the quickest and most convenient ways to travel, can be stressful for various reasons. Both the dread of flying and the excitement of planning a vacation in an exotic location can contribute to a buildup of anxiety and stress. Prescription medications can be helpful for stress and anxiety management, but there are synthetic compounds out there that can be hazardous or addictive.

Stress related to flying can be reduced with CBD, a natural substance. There is a wide selection of this product on the market. Before takeoff, a few drops of CBD oil or tincture in your beverage of choice (coffee, tea, or juice) will help calm your nerves. Serotonin is a neurotransmitter known for its uplifting and soothing properties, and CBD improves the signaling of its receptors. These receptors also facilitate sleep, especially on long flights when passengers are confined to seats for long periods.

  • Carry a CBD balm or lotion while walking or hiking

When on vacation, nothing beats a day of invigorating hiking to take in natural beauty and bring you and your loved ones closer together. However, muscle fatigue and joint pain from lugging heavy equipment can quickly add up. When things go wrong on a hike, it can be uncomfortable.

If you anticipate experiencing localized pain, be sure to bring along a CBD balm or lotion. While trekking, spraining your knees, ankles, or heels, or experiencing back discomfort, applying a CBD topical can help alleviate your pain quickly and for a long time.

  • Have CBD oil or topical if you have a sensitive skin

Temperature changes may wreak havoc on your skin whether you’re flying, driving, or sailing. It’s possible to experience skin issues like acne, dryness, rashes, etc., when visiting locations with cold or dry climates. Likewise, severe cabin air pressure can cause your skin to dry out, have rough areas, and even crack when you travel for long periods in the air.

CBD’s moisturizing properties make it an excellent choice for maintaining healthy skin. The vitamin E found in CBD helps control oily skin by balancing sebum production. Therefore, CBD oil or topical creams should be considered to keep your skin healthy while you travel.

Importance of Using CBD

CBD is a compound extracted from cannabis plants that act on the body’s endocannabinoid system (ECS), a complex web of receptors, metabolic enzymes, and signaling molecules. Endocannabinoid receptors can be divided into two major classes: CB1 and CB2. CB1 activation aids in stress management, while CB2 activation decreases inflammation and boosts immune system function.

The Bottom Line

The holiday season is widely regarded as the happiest time of the year. The burden of vacationing on top of the stress of school or work, purchasing gifts for relatives, organizing parties, and traveling can be stressful.

Whether you’re looking for a tincture, a topical, or a dropper, you can find an extensive line of CBD-infused products. By reading this article, you now have information on how to legally bring and use CBD products on your next trip within the US to relieve anxiety, reduce pain, enhance sleep, and stimulate appetite.
