perfect smileMaking sure you look your best starts with your smile, so showing off pearly whites is crucial. Looking after your teeth is necessary if you want good oral health, but there are procedures that you can get to enhance your current teeth. More and more people are looking to get veneers in Turkey, as they can offer the latest technology and really give you the smile of your dreams. If you’re interested in getting veneers but are worried about the pain, keep reading and find out if you’ll be in pain after your veneers.

What Are Veneers

Dental veneers can be used to straighten and whiten your smile and are thought to be a non-invasive procedure. Typically, veneers are made of porcelain and are thin shells that cover the teeth. They can be made from a resin-type material as well, which is also extremely durable. They can be used to fix chipped teeth, discoloured teeth, or simply enhance your smile. Some people get one or a couple of veneers, but you can get them for your whole set of teeth too.

How Is The Procedure Carried Out?

Before you actually have your veneers fitted, you have to visit the dentist so they can create a mould of your current teeth. They’ll also check for other issues as well, as things like gum disease can prevent you from having them. Once your mould is ready, your veneers will be created, and this can take a couple of weeks. When you attend your veneer appointment, the first thing the dentist will do is clean your teeth. This stops any bacteria from becoming trapped underneath the veneers once fitted. Next, they’ll buff your teeth to create a rough exterior on them to help the veneer stick better. The dentist will use dental cement to fix the veneer in place and it is then cured with a UV light. Normally, this whole procedure only takes a couple of hours too, but it can vary depending on how many veneers you’re having fitted. Most people also find the procedure quite painless as well as it’s not an extremely invasive procedure to have.

Aftercare Instructions

Your aftercare advice may vary depending on your dentist, but generally, you’ll be told to stay on top of your oral health. You’ll need to pay close attention to the top of the veneer where it meets the gums. Bacteria and food can easily become trapped there, so brushing properly is important. You’ll also want to ensure you have regular dental cleanings throughout the year to upkeep them too. The aftercare may also involve avoiding hard foods straight after, but you should be fine after a few days. Make sure you follow your dentist’s aftercare advice so that you can get the best results from your veneers as possible.

What’s The Recovery Like?

After your procedure has been completed, you’ll probably feel a little tenderness, but nothing severe. It’s thought that you may feel a little bit of soreness in your gums and jaw, but taking over-the-counter painkillers is thought to help. Recovery is said to be pretty painless, which is why a lot of people like the option of veneers over other tooth replacements. Knowing how little pain there is with veneers is one of their biggest attractions too, as most dental procedures can leave you in pain or number for hours and even days after.

Veneers are one of the most painless procedures you can get, and their recovery is the same. They can also be a good option for those who are a little scared of the dentist as you won’t be subjected to a painful, invasive procedure. Instead, you’ll be able to sit back and relax while they work on your new smile. Afterwards, the recovery is pretty pain-free as well, allowing you to get on with your daily life with ease. So, if you’re wanting to brighten up your smile but without the pain, why not try out veneers? With the confidence they can give you, you won’t be able to stop smiling!
