As the world opens back up for many of us, we’re booking flights, car rentals, and train tickets at a much more rapid pace. After all, we’ve been locked down in loungewear for far too long. But say you’re not the one that’s planning the trip. Maybe your best friend just surprised you by showing up and shouting, “Get in, we’re headed to Nashville!” Perhaps your partner surprised you with tickets to Miami, but you’re leaving tonight. It can be easy to forget things that you’ll need, even if it’s just for a two-day trip when you’re excited and rushing out the door. Let’s review things you can’t forget to pack and things to check off your list, even if you’ve only got two hours’ notice!

All The Electronics!

It seems like a given, but it’s always good to have doubles of everything you own. Sure, minimalism is tempting and beneficial in many ways, but it’s not feasible to pare down to one of the things in some areas. So, having a stash of the chargers you need for, at minimum, your phone, but additionally your iPad or laptop so you can get work done on your trip if required is critical. You also want your AirPods in case you need to hop on a conference or listen to a podcast. It would be best if you also had them while working out (well, maybe not needed but you get the idea). So having a small bag with these already packed and in a drawer is an excellent idea if you travel a lot.

Necessary Medications

If you’re on prescription medication that you take daily, obviously, you can’t leave home without these. So, please make sure they are one of the first things you grab after you make or agree to travel plans. On top of your oral prescription medications, you may have topicals that you use for rashes or other skin conditions, don’t forget them. Of course, if you’re like many people, you also supplement your healthy lifestyle, so why stop on your vacation? Don’t forget to pack the regular supplements you take every day, like your multivitamins, probiotic pills, and anything else that helps you feel and look your very best. Throw some CBD in there to help you relax on your plane ride too!

Transitional And Functional Fashion

Over the last two years, we’ve seen the rise and staying power of the “belt bag” or “bum bag” or, if you want to date yourself – the fanny pack. The reality is, though, it’s no wonder this fashion accessory has made a significant comeback – they’re literally perfect. If you don’t own one and travel a reasonable amount, you need to purchase one with haste! They come in handy in day-to-day life as well, no matter what type of lifestyle you lead.

You also want light layering pieces for the trip. These come in handy as airplanes and trains can vary in temperatures, and you may need to take them on and off. Additionally, the weather in the Fall is this way also, so you want to be able to look great while staying comfortable at the same time. So make sure you pack a couple of cardigans, a shacket (a shirt that transitions easily to a jacket), and anything else that makes it easy for you to transition from one degree to another.

You also always want to pack at least one garment that can be dressed up in case you decide to go to a more elevated restaurant or club while you’re on your trip. Of course, you could always buy something while you’re there, but why spend the money when you could save it for another round of drinks or an expensive souvenir to commemorate the trip?

Traveling at the last minute is one of the greatest joys in life! After all, more than ever before, people value experiences over things – and that’s a great thing! Pun intended! So, next time someone asks you at the last minute if you want to take an impromptu road trip to the beach or hop on a flight to a big city, say “Yes!” Life is short, and you deserve to have a great time while living it. Just remember, luck favors the prepared so keep these tips in mind. Happy Trails!

Hello, as always this is relevant! Now planning trips has become easier because there are many resources that can help, sometimes even a profile on an Instagram can create a lot of ideas for your trip. I read an article about Roadtrip-a-Matic which makes planning your trip easier. I think there are many such products, and all of them can help.
