Home Updates to Consider Undertaking This Summer

home exteriorIt is never too late to do some home updates. It would help if you considered doing it during this summer before the weather turns cold. Warm months are great for an outdoor project such as updating the house’s exterior and ideal for projects that need a well-ventilated work environment. If you allow this summer season to end, colder temperatures may delay your home update effort. Cold temperatures may also affect the quality of improvement negatively. The following are home updates you might consider undertaking this summer.

Windows Replacement

Drafty and old windows are the leading cause of heat loss during the winter season. This leads to reduced indoor comfort levels and heating costs. The summer season provides a perfect time for home improvement professionals to replace windows. Experts can help you with measuring, ordering, and installing windows based on your needs and preferences. They will also recommend the best materials to use. For instance, aluminum blinds are one of the longest-lasting and low-maintenance options for window treatments, and they are available for all sizes of windows.

Re-Siding the Home’s Exterior

If your house starts to peel and flake just some years after painting, the siding may have surpassed a pint where a mere cover-up will serve. Old siding enhances the development of mold, rot, and mildew over time. This makes it hard for the siding to keep painting. Missing or loose boards reduce a home’s weather resistance and facilitate higher cooling and heating costs. Luckily, warm summer weather offers the perfect time to upgrade a house.

Replace the Entry Door

Regardless of the time spent mowing the yard and pruning the hedges, an old and worn-out front door affects the tidy appearance of a home. Rather than appearing dismal, warped, cracked, or weathered, front doors often frustrate a person by sticking when closed or opened. Sometimes, it may not be easy to lock them. If your front door troubles you, you need to take advantage of this summer and replace it before the weather turns cold.

Reface the Cabinets

If your kitchen appears worn out but you like the configuration of the cabinets, and they are in a sound state, refacing may be the appropriate option. Cabinet refacing entails replacing drawer fronts and cabinet doors and installing matching veneer on the cabinet base faces. After finishing the project, the kitchen appears fresh and new at a lower cost than replacing the cabinets entirely. Additionally, you will complete the project before holiday cooking when you schedule these kitchen updates during summer.

Furthermore, for your outdoor space, if you want to replace cabinet doors for an outdoor kitchen, make sure that it is made with weather-resistant materials like stainless steel and aluminum to withstand the outdoor elements. It will provide a sleek and modern look to your outdoor kitchen and can last longer than traditional wood cabinets. With different styles and colors, you can create a unique look that will surely complement your outdoor decor.

New Countertops Installation

Although the installation of new countertops appears like a project that can be undertaken at any time, the summer season is the best time to schedule this project. Considering that the installation experts require to haul the old countertop from the house and carry in new countertop materials, frigid temperatures and icy sidewalks are not ideal for this outdoor-indoor foot traffic.

Roof Replacement

Are you contented with your missing shingles or the leaky roof of your house? The average lifespan for a shingle roof is 13 years. Warmer months are ideal for roofing projects since new shingles need heat to form a weather-tight seal. Reroofing doesn’t conform to wintry conditions. There are many shingle options available for you to choose from. Roof replacement professionals may handle roofing services such as roof assessment, permit pulling, and roof installation services.

To prevent overlooking roof areas that may be damaged, roof replacement professionals can install shingles directly onto the roof deck and undertake roof overlays, which entails adding a shingles layer over an existing layer. When tearing off the existing shingles, if any damage or rot to the roof deck is found, the roof replacement experts should repair the damage before installing new shingles to protect the roof’s future structural integrity. Finding roofing experts should not be a problem, since the roofing industry is growing. For instance, there is an expected growth of over 4% yearly in the roofing sector, and it is expected to attain $19.9 billion by 2021.

The summer season provides an ideal time for updating and improving a home. If your home needs some updates, take advantage of this summer. You can consider the above home update projects for overall health concerns.

During winter season, snow can pile up several feet thick, which can lead to a weight too excessive for the load-bearing capacity of your roof. This can cause cracks above windows and doors, a bowed ceiling, and even roof collapse. Ice and water issues include ice damming, new leakage points, and more. So, one must repair one’s roof before winter season as you explained well in your discussion. I must say that instead of replacing whole roof, repair or restore it with the help of DIY <a href="[Link deleted]liquid butyl rubber that gives a waterproof, airtight and highly insulated durable covering to your roof with its single primer free coat extending the life of your roof to next 15 to 20 years.

Thank you for the article! In fact, I have long been planning a good renovation of the roof of my house, as well as replacement of windows. I have a fairly old house and still had tree windows, which are already in very poor condition. I found a good solution in Australia at https://blueskywindows.com.au/double-glazed-windows/ I love that there are many style options that fit my new design plan

Thank you for the article! This summer, we generally thought about drastic changes, since our purchased LGI Homes had problems with HVAC. We had to hire specialists who can set up the system. In general, these are all the mistakes that we made before buying, because we did not read LGI Homes reviews to find out in advance about the problems that were
