how to keep your pet healthy when you travelAs dog lovers, we always treat our dogs as our children. We want to be happy unconditionally and safe at all times. As a pet owner, how do we know if our dog feels safe?

Stress, Anxiety, and fear play an important role to feel safe in an animal. If your dog is new to your home, introduce them to every member of your family and make a safe & friendly environment for them to feel safe.

Sometimes your dog just needs a Break! Your dog can be naturally shy or nervous around to see different kinds of people, be fearful of loud noises or events, or dealing with anxiety.

If your dog is new to your home, naturally anxious, or being left home alone for a sometimes or few hours, we thought this is important to make sure they feel secure.

  1. Creating a pet-safe resting space:- When you rescue a puppy or bringing home a new dog this is especially important for them. If you want your dog to immediately settle in your home this idea works to feel comfortable. Make sure this space is away from heavy foot traffic, easily accessible, and in a location where your dog can still see what is going on.

  2. Provide your dog with Entertainment and Dog Doors:- Sometimes when you are not available at home, your dog can be getting bored or definitely will search for alternative forms of entertainment to keep himself busy while he wants for you to come home. Also when you get tired of playing doggy doorman or you need a way for your dogs to get outside to potty while you’re at work then dog doors can be the best option and go from the house on their own. Before using dog doors you must need to train your dog to use the dog doors. Nowadays in the market, many high tech dog doors are available in different sizes and different style matters.

  3. Maintain Structure in your dog’s life:- A daily routine, communication, and consistent training are important to make your dog feel secure in your environment too much anxiety and fear come into the dog because of uncertainty which can lead to bad behavior such as chewing or barking. What your dog is supposed to be doing that can be clear communication to help your dog figure out those things and where he best fits in will make him feel safe and more comfortable in the home you share to gather.

  4. Keep Necessary food supplements for your pets:– You should ensure enough food and water for your pet before leaving your home, and make sure he can get easy access to it. Animals become very anxious when they are hungry and they may do bad things in the house, which will create a dangerous zone. With food and water, you can also consider interesting activities to keep pets busy while you are out of the home.

  5. Find a Reliable Pet Sitter:- When your pet is too young or too old, and you are not sure if he can deal with your being away. So find out a responsible pet sitter for always the best way to keep him safe when you are out of the home. This action also gives you peace of mind, especially when you have a new puppy.

  6. Don’t punish your dog using Aversive:– Avoid using aversive as punishment is an important way to make sure your dog feels safe at home. There are many other ways to discourage bad behavior without hurting or scaring your dog, many of them using positive reinforcement to teach your dog acceptable behavior.

Don’t punish your dog if he is using aversive. It is an important way to make sure it feels safe. When you go outside from the home and your dog is alone at home it can be comforting to leave a soothing radio station or television channel on. And don’t forget to switch on the light when you are away to leave at least one light on.

We hope these above suggestions are helpful for your puppy or dog.
