Being a member of the European Union has a lot of benefits, but one of the absolute favorites among Europeans is undeniably the ease of traveling, especially if you take into consideration the growing number of countries that decide to replace their currency with euro or to accept euro just like their own – there’s no need to buy money that you’ve never heard of and that you will probably never use again.
The old continent is full of wonderful places that you should see during your lifetime. Here are some of many various examples:
- Alpbach in Austria has been recognized as the most beautiful village in Austria by all the Austrians. It’s worth visiting at any time of year – you can admire lush green fields in summer (and you may recognize them if you’re a fan of The Sound of Music) and magnificent snowy hills in winter.
- Belgian Flanders Fields are beautiful and symbolic poppy fields, former battlefields of World War I. It reminds us about the horrifying reality of war and gives us an opportunity to remember those who gave their lives.
- Plitvice Lakes National Park in Croatia – it’s the place of famous waterfalls that you’ve probably already seen on Pinterest or Facebook. Many consider it as one of the most beautiful sites in the world. However, if you want to swim, you have to head to Krka National Park where it is allowed (and it’s almost as stunning as Plitvice).
- You may know Giverny in France from several of Claude Monet’s paintings. And it still looks just as charming as it did when it was an inspiration for the famous painter – a truly idyllic Normandia countryside full of weeping willows, roses and water lilies. Fairytale.
