vegan bangkok thailand healthy voyagerThe Land of Smiles, as Thailand is known in homage to its friendly residents and the welcome it extends to visitors certainly lives up to its name. For anyone looking for a cheap dentist in Thailand they won’t be disappointed either by the prices, or the quality. The Kingdom’s exotic tourist attractions, unique culture and tropical beaches have appealed to foreigners since the 1960s, and to dental and medical tourists since the 1990s when the government opened the door to foreign patients. So, if you’re off to Thailand as a dental tourist in 2018 what locations should you head to?

1: Bangkok

The Thai capital is a multifaceted city with a split personality. Huge shopping malls sit alongside traditional floating markets; ornate temples are sited next to trashy go-go bars while rooftop restaurants look down on street food carts. It is an intoxicating combination that keeps visitors coming, despite giving Jakarta a run for the slowest moving traffic in Southeast Asia. Luckily, Bangkok is best explored on foot and there are boats and the BTS Skytrain to move you quickly from one part of the city to another.

One thing’s for sure, you’ll never be bored in Bangkok as a traditional or dental tourist. And how do the prices for dentists in Bangkok compare? Judge for yourself. A tooth-colored filling in Bangkok costs between US $23-$58 rather than the $200+ in the States.

2: Phuket

Thailand’s largest island provides a glut of things to do, and whether you are looking for hedonistic or holistic pursuits you’ll find them here. The gorgeous picture-postcard beaches framed by the brilliant aquamarine Andaman Sea are the main attraction. From the upscale Ao Bang Thao to the raucous Patong there is a beach here for you. But, aside from beaches, there are parks and animal sanctuaries, as well as the hipster Phuket Town, where the old shophouses are being restored as trendy guest houses, quirky boutiques and trendy coffee-shops.

With dental clinics on the beaches doing brisk business you don’t have to waste a moment more than necessary of your vacation. The dentists in Phuket are highly-skilled and offer great prices like dental crowns for around US $450 compared to $1,200 in the States.

3: Chiang Mai

Despite being a huge modern city that has sprung up around the historic center of Chiang Mai, the Old Town has a cosy, smalltown feel and is the perfect place to relax. Ambling unhurriedly is the order of the day here, giving you time to discover the treasures hidden down backstreets, sample the fabulous food and get involved in whatever activities present themselves. Outside of the city is the lush, green rainforested landscape of Northern Thailand where waterfalls, elephant sanctuaries and hill tribes provide an altogether more contemplative experience than Bangkok or the beach resorts in Southern Thailand.

Dental costs are, as you would expect, low compared to the United States with, for example, dental implants costing around US $1,500 compared to $3,900 in America.

A well-developed dental tourism scene ensures that you should be able to find a cheap dentist in Thailand, no matter where you want to go. Furthermore, you’ll find highly-skilled dentists with memberships of international organizations like ICOI so you know you’ll be receiving good-quality, just remember to do a little research before you go.

Great list! I would also recommend that you plan this route in advance and get your reservations in advance. For example, it is better to book a hotel or a transfer in advance.
