May 9th is National Moscato Day, an annual holiday dedicated to enjoying the deliciously sweet wine varietal. Doesn’t that sound divine? Ooh, plus it lands on a Friday so celebrate away!
My friends at Gallo Family Vineyards established National Moscato Day in 2010 to celebrate the unprecedented excitement American’s had for the sweet wine varietal and how it was reshaping what people thought about wine. Since not everyone is a wine connoisseur, Gallo was smart in introducing the day to show off their yummy varietal to folks who might not be too keen on wine or a just beginning to dip their toes into the veritable grapey pool!
Their signature Pink Moscato is light-bodied, but bursting with aromas of fresh citrus and peach, followed by hints of fresh red berries and orange blossoms. I have to say, it’s absolutely delicious with a light salad, some grilled veggies, chilled out tunes and fun company. The Gallo Red Moscato brings out flavors of sweet citrus and peach, with a bright red berry finish which goes well with a bit heartier meal, candlelight and light dessert, ooh lala! And of course, their traditional Moscato is bursting with delicious flavors of peach, honey, and ripe citrus…a-maz-ing!
Celebrating on National Moscato Day is as easy as uncorking a bottle of Gallo Family Vineyards Moscato and sharing it with friends and family. And now that spring is here, it’s the perfect time to enjoy a relaxing evening meal outdoors with this sweet beverage!
Brothers Ernest & Julio Gallo founded Gallo Family Vineyards in 1933 with the idea of creating high quality wines at an affordable price, a tradition we’ve continued for four generations. Gallo Family Vineyards is the proud producer of flavorful wines that celebrate the spirit of hardworking American families of shapes, sizes, and forms. The vast portfolio includes 16 fruit- forward wines.
Be sure to check out the yummy Gallo wine varieties and celebrate National Moscato Day this Friday by joining me at a fun Twitter party at 3pm PST/6pm EST using hashtag #DiaDelMoscato . I’ll be there with my glass of Moscato, will you? RSVP for the party by clicking here!
See you there!
