One thing that works great with adults as well as kids is to make recycling a game! Making any task more fun is a great way to stay the course. Check out some of my fun ideas on how recycling can be made into a fun game:
- Get points for every item a family member contributes to the bin. At the end of each week, the winner gets a fun prize!
- Money is a motivator! Help kids learn the importance of recycling by gathering recyclables and taking them to drop off centers to redeem for cash.
- Eco craftiness is fun! Start to see how common household items and recyclable goods can be reused. Be it a family arts and crafts project or remodeling furniture, it’s a great way to use goods in a creative way.
And there are so many more!
In talking about making recycling fun, did you know that REPREVE is a sponsor of the X Games 2014? Yep, and they are doing a fabulous giveaway to celebrate!
#TurnItGreen X Games contest:
Dates: Jan. 1-31
Grand Prize: $5,000 cash
To celebrate the X Games, REPREVE invites participants to share how they “turn it green”, or how they live a more sustainable life by recycling or reusing materials, by sharing an image or video on Twitter, Instagram or Vine with the #TurnItGreen hashtag.
Once you share the image or video with the hashtag, you will be entered into a sweepstakes where five entries will be randomly selected as the Top Five. Those five will be voted on by visitors to Repreve[dot]com where the image or video with the most votes will win a $5,000 cash prize. The other four video entries will receive a REPREVE Jacket and a Go-Pro camera (retail valued at over $350).”
Check out this fun video on what happens to recycled bottles from my friends at Repreve, a company that uses recycled bottles to make fun stuff you can wear!
I’m so excited to partner with REPREVE in this sponsored post and share with you how to #TurnItGreen! Join in the #TurnItGreen fun, won’t you?

Hey! This is kind of off topic but I need some
guidance from an established blog. Is it very difficult to set up
your own blog? I’m not very techincal but I can figure things out
pretty fast. I’m thinking about making my own but I’m
not sure where to begin. Do you have any tips or suggestions?
Thank you
